The pesticide industry, their allies in the European Parliament and national governments are attacking this historic goal. Never before has it been so important for EU citizens to raise their voices against the use of pesticides.
For these reasons, a European Citizens’ Initiative “Save the bees and the farmers” was created!

The European Citizens Initiative (ECI) is a unique way in which citizens can help shape policies on various European Union issues by asking the European Commission to propose new laws. Once an initiative has gathered 1 million signatures from different EU countries, the Commission will decide what actions to take.

The basic requests

Eliminate the use of synthetic pesticides

By 2030, the use of synthetic pesticides will be phased out by 80% in EU agriculture. By 2035, agriculture across the Union will operate without synthetic pesticides.
Measures to recover biodiversity

Habitats will be restored and agricultural areas will become an agent of biodiversity recovery.

Support to farmers.

Farmers must be supported in the necessary transition to agroecology. This will favor small varieties and sustainable farms, expand organic farming and support research into pesticide-free and GMO-free agriculture.
